Recognizing Symptoms of TMJ
Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD), also known as TMJ syndrome, is often characterized by symptoms such as chronic jaw pain, tenderness around the neck and jaw, and frequent headaches. Some people find it difficult to open their mouth wide because of inflammation around the jaw joint. Others may experience bouts of upper shoulder pain or find that their jaw gets ‘stuck’ or locked in position from time to time.
